
Theresa McMackin is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Atrocity Prevention from Keene State College. She is a graduate of Stockton University, where she earned an MA in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Her capstone project focused on the Western media’s coverage of the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar. She previously earned her BA in History from Stockton University, where she focused on post-Holocaust memory in Europe. Her main areas of focus concern national historical narratives, nationalism, and populism studies.
Theresa is actively involved with National Model United Nations and volunteers as a staff member for their annual conferences in New York and Washington DC.
Theresa was a fellow with the Auschwitz Jewish Center and the Museum of Jewish Heritage in the summer of 2018. She has presented her research at numerous conferences, the most notable being the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) Conference in July 2017 and July 2019.
When she isn’t reading about genocide and mass atrocities, Theresa enjoys YA fantasy novels and binge-watching the tv series M*A*S*H and The West Wing.
